The mixing cooler of continuous action 11315 with the capacity of 240 m3/hr is designed to reduce automatically the temperature of the sand spent in foundries.

The mixing cooler operates according to the principle of an evaporative unit. The hot exhausted mixture flowing into the cooler is moistened and cooled by the outdoor heat of vaporization. The cooling process is intensified by a continuous mixing and blowing of the air, which removes water vapor. The air also serves as a coolant.

The temperature is reduced during the contact with the sand particles with the air and water vapor.

For efficient cooling of the mixture spent it is necessary that the air and water should be in contact with as many sand particles as much as it is reasonable. The air and water should be thoroughly mixed with the sand and the contact time should be sufficient to provide a heat transfer. Because the sand has a quite poor thermal conductivity, a heat flow from the center to the surface of the grain is relatively small.

The mixing cooler 11312 with the capacity of 70 m3/hr is designed to reduce automatically the temperature of the sand spent in the mixture preparatory departments of foundries.
